Lost at Sea

Lost at Sea

Engulfed. Plunging. Thrashing about desperately,
my heart fights to get a gasp of air.
The weight pulls me down deeper and deeper
into the black ocean of darkness and loneliness.
A single tear slips down my cheek,
the only manifestation of the storm raging in me.

“Father!” from these depths I call to you;
you feel so far but where else can I go?
Only you can hear; only you can rescue.
Help me be lost in the boundless
ocean of your love for me.
