This Little Light of Mine

This Little Light of Mine

I look up in to the night sky and amidst the deep blackness I see shimmers,
pin holes of light, like the way diamonds sparkle under light.
In the midst of an otherwise void sky there is remarkable beauty.

I look out and feel the void and blackness like that dark night sky in the death,
hunger, poverty, addiction.. but God who put the stars in the sky has put shimmers
of beauty and hope here too. The smile that flashes across a child’s face jumping rope,
giggles chasing bubbles, and the children big and small who sing with all their might:
“My God is so big, so strong and so mighty there’s nothing my God can not do!”
