Poem -

Lost at sea

Lost at sea

We are drawn to the sea
Like the tides to the moon

Tethered by some silvery ThreadĀ

Ā

Back and forth go we

Compelled by the Sirens tune

'Return, return' she sings

As back to the sea we are ledĀ

Ā

Our salty tears add to the Swell

Gulls cry above translucent Waves

'Turn back' they say

'All is not well

You are going to your grave!'Ā

Ā

An intermittent lighthouse Beam

Reminds us of land and home

Illuminating our trance like DreamĀ

And the hypnotic eb and flowĀ

Ā

Of tides that wish to take us Yet

On mighty crescents of Thunder

Washed down to deep and Inky depths

To claim us like Pirate's Plunder

Ā

Sinking ever further there

A violent beauty glows

To trick us to her deadly lair

Amidst the sailors bonesĀ

Ā

Unearthly pleasure, this song So sweet

Odysseus resist the call

For to listen is to surely meet

The death and loss of all

Ā

Sunken wrecks a prison make

For victims of the Siren

Of which there can be no Escape

No one will hear them crying

Ā

So remember on thatĀ  sunny Day

When calm and soothing tides

Seem harmless, or that murky Cave

entices you insideĀ

Ā

Keep your wits and listen now

This warning I give to thee

Beware the enchanting Siren's call

Or be forever lost at sea.
