That Clock

That Clock

Tick tock, tick tock,
There it goes, stealing my time.

Gone, gone,

With every second with every chime.

It used to be silent, that clock,

Before I noticed it.

Even though I was travelling fast, so fast,

That clock remained unheard.

Not now.

Now I hear it.

Loud like thunder, like waves.

Ticking always ticking,

Counting down to my demise.

When did I first hear it, that Clock?

Was it when the music died?

Maybe.

That was when the thoughts Began,

That was when I realised.
