Lost hiker

Lost hiker

Exhausted now and in poor health

Deep in these woods I find myself

My knowledge here will have no wealth

There are no ears to cry for help

The air is cold and thinning fast

I pushed my limits far and past

But as I cross this mountain pass

I reach my tunneled light at last

Approaching toward the stream below

The leaves exude a yellow glow

Deep in my heart Ive come to know

What great relief this land can show

The waters rush and fill with foam

Bright sunlight paints the waters chrome

The time has come to end my roam

To follow flowing waters home.
