LOVE AGAIN

I was always a champion of love
Use to think that there is no life without it
So, when I love, I love very deep
And now I got my broken heart to prove it

Sometimes with love
The ending can come very fast
You thought that new love will last forever
But how quickly that happy period can come to pass

No one knows why lovers break up
It’s as natural as mother nature
And a breakup can hit you very hard sometimes
And may even make you feel like a failure

but that is love
love is a very funny thing
love always leave you with a story to tell
so, this is where I begin

The girl that I love with all of my heart
We broke up after being together for two years
Some things are just not meant to be
So, we parted ways with a hug and a few tears

Losing her really took a toll on my heart
And to my aching heart a promise I made
A promise I will always keep
And as time goes by, it will not falter or fade

I promise my heart
That I would never love again
And under no conditions would I open the wounds
That would bleed and cause it more pain

So I boxed up all of my emotions
 to keep my heart sheltered is my goal
and I built a wall around me
to defend my lonely soul

My heart must be protected at all cost
From the long road that lies ahead of me
My eyes must be prepared to see love from a distance
So, I can hide behind a tree

I will not open a way again
For love to mesmerize my eyes
Because if I broke this promise
Then my broken heart will know that I tell lies

and if love does come on me unexpectedly
Then I won't know what to do
and tears I’ve hidden for so long will be revealed
and I will need more than a box of tissue

I can’t take that chance again
I am still hurting from the last time
And if I put my heart through this again
Then this time it would surely be a crime

these memoirs of her I try to erase
there are still remnants of everything we were
so, falling in love again will hurt too much
because I can never get over her
