~~Love and Poets

Why do poets fall in love?
Binding their thoughts to only one heart?
Having time for nothing else
As the world goes rolling along
The beauty of a blooming rose in summer
Is seen as not important, to pulse the pen
And the movements of the birds
Hovering round the fields of pink flora;
Has no relevance to them
Poets hold their words for love
Ignoring the sweet sensation of the August wind
Or the majesty of Redwood trees growing.
The melody of blackbird’s singing;
Or the sound of raindrops falling
Weeping leaves at midnight;
Moves along silent, as in a dream
Bringing just another day.
Love is more important,
Than any blooming rose
And just one kiss more precious
Than any August wind, or blackbirds song
And raindrops falling;
Is the loneliest sound
Without the presence of love around

Hey Chris!!.......this is fantastic bro!!...........How could I NOT relate to this?...........awesomely true phrases and dripping with the morning dew of Loves spectacular tunnel-vision.........The newness of love can be overwhelmingly compelling...... T
Hi Chris! This is Cherie (here in Chicago with Tony..lol) Maybe this is what they mean by "love is blind" because the world can be vibrant in bloom with beauty but cannot compete with love's allure....all fades away in the background in comparison. You know I can relate, because love is a constant theme in my writes. :) You present your evidence well in this poem that love takes center stage in life with focus and consummate beauty against any background of life's finest.....making it a precious commodity in deed. I enjoyed! When I get home, I will put this in my favorites. Love to you, brother C. xox Cherie
ps. Chris........Cherie cut "my but off"........didn't allow me to finish my thought.......HELP!!........I'm trapped under the boulder of Cherie-Love.........AAGGHHH!!...............just smilin' and havin fun brother.........awesome write Mamma Jamma!!.........ttyl........T xx
Glad you enjoy 'Pablo' :D...sounds like you're having a blast T...I wrote this poem years ago, and saw something different so I changed it all up to reflect my current view of poets and love; you and Cherie def. influence my opinion on the subject, thanks for the influence and encouragement my brother T...glad you're havin fun, enjoy your evening
Barry your comments are gold, me mate...very helpful and super encouraging...like what you said about poets being more sensitive to their surroundings...my favorite poet; among many, is probably Robert Frost, the man had this way of implying a broader meaning behind his rural life descriptions; ie...Road less travelled, slowing moments down and yes like you said being sensitive to the surroundings...I like all poetry that is honest and has a heart beat, but love and nature is very inspiring...cheers Barry
Hi Christopher,
I agree with Cherie and Tony on this piece it`s a superb example of the power of love and it shows just how important it is for the whole world and I agree that poets are very sensitive and are wonderful at expressing themselves in ways that are so meaningful and you are a superb example. Well done for a well written and well thought through piece.
Hugs
G xx
