Love isn't just a phrase. 
It's an emotion. 
Felt throughout your days. 
And can hit like a locomotion. 

It matters not of age. 
Nor of distance. 
Coming at you in a rage. 
Hits you in an instance. 

I will cause you joy. 
And some pain. 
Giddiest as a school boy. 
Then love is to blame. 

At times it is the best. 
Others at its worse. 
Can hinder your rest. 
And cause you to curse. 

Feel alone and lost. 
Love. 
Happiness is the cost. 
For the bad side of. 

We always carry it. 
Everywhere we go. 
Though sometimes it doesn't fit. 
But we always know. 

There isn't a trick
To keep it from failing. 
So stand up for another lick.

Love all you can. 
Along your way. 
Banish it not human. 
Let it in to play.
