Love Lost

Love Lost

Love lost
Can love be lost?
Like keys under a couch
Misplaced momentarily
Only to be remembered when needed?

Or is love like steel
Nearly indestructible but malleable
Able to be twisted
Distorted out of shape
Melted and recast anew?

Is love an anchor, a rock
That can erode and weather to nothingness
But remain alive in the particles
The atoms that get recycled in Earth's core
And erupt with a force unlike any other?

Love is powerful
Love is true
Love is deep
Can love be lost?
