Love With The Flowers

Love With The Flowers

The rhododendron told the geranium to get a move on,
because it was hanging back with a hard-on,
what's male, what's female, they've all got knobs on,
to what family, what identity, do you belong?

The rose had no morals - you tell me right and wrong,
no knowledge of God, even the weak and the strong;
look at you humans - you have pansies too,
at least we're 'real' - not misplaced like wandering jew.

We have our love with yesterday today and tomorrow,
honeysuckle, frangipani, lavender, don't need to borrow;
our carnations adorn your buttonholes, special events,
you may be clever but sometimes you have no 'sense.'

You need poppy to take you away for one day,
don't have our love, no matter how much you pay.
