Poem -

Loveless Universe

Although I had believed that nothing could come in between him and me, the world surrounding us disagreed. The trees, the sky, and the stars could not let us be. Soon came the insatiable ending, leaving my hallow heart an eternal mending. However, no soul had the tools to complete this impossible task. My face soon became a mask, as I painted on it a life worth wanting, but the truth behind the act was so daunting. My days dark and bleak, my heart now hostile, but inside, very weak. I close myself off now, shutting my eyes, thinking back to that happier time when I had felt alive. My love, my light, you have left me blind. A permanent state of mind, I resign, as I forever fall asleep. A single tear escapes in my final weep as I cast my goodbyes on this loveless universe. Falling, I contemplate which is worse

a life with love or a life without it

There is a sweet sadness to this. I love it, especially this line,

"Soon came the insatiable ending, leaving my hallow heart an eternal mending"

It's the kind of line I wish I had written! Beautiful poem.
