We were young & captured by loves first glance
Explored love & fantasy, of each others dreams, 
Imagining our future, entwined like a fine wine
You were my all & everything, not to last it seems, 
The years losing you gripped my heart so tight
You were still in my thoughts as years passed by, 
I heard you wished to see me several years after 
Finding new love only to find, no love returned a lie, 
I travelled many a path to a darkened journey 
Kept you deep inside my heart, one wish I seek, 
Now I know I will be alone while in love & happy
Now I realise our love is all I'd see, happy once the peak, 
A happy time I look back on with a definite smile 
I'm glad for the years we dreamt of our future once before, 
Shame your new lover is in my place in your life 
But I wish you happiness as one it closes to a different door.
