The chorus

Misheard

The chorus

Early the birds sang out their chorus
Early the cool breeze awoke the flowers,
Early the birds out sing their neighbours
Early clouds of blue chase for hours,
The silence is still, just leaves rustle
The morning sun drags itself from sleep,
The butterflies go about their business
The cat next door explores, prowls & creep,
Thoughts from yesterday still echo inside
I ask myself why nature shows us beauty,
But the cards I'm dealt show no sunshine
A rain cloud follows, unsure where to be,
I have a good heart, I help where I can
Many abuse my kindness, no visible scar,
I long to vanish, get away from it all
Wishes fall on deaf ears, distance too far,
I look back on where I've been & gone
I've been hurt by love & friends for years,
I'm tired of paths of closed doors in sight
Running on empty, again dried up tears.
