Loyal Doormat

I come into your life

All innocent and without strife

I’m good looking and clean

I welcome all to your home without a scene

I’m open to all

From small to tall

I get stepped all over

Without a complaint or bother

I am loyal

And treat you like a royal

I get scuffed and sometimes a kick

Without a thought with you I stick

I accept when it has rained,

Patient until it has drained.

I lay around at home under the sun ray,

Waiting for you to come home every day.

Just to be stepped on again,

But with you I will remain.

I even allow unnecessary pooh,

To be wiped off from your shoe.

Till the day I am replaced,

This is our life faced.

With another doormat.

Not important enough for a stat.
