LUCKY PENNY

Standing here waiting for the penny to drop
In the water down below to splash and plop
Supposed to be lucky or that's what I'm told
In days of yore and the knights so bold 

A notice is on the written on the bridge side
The message is simple and done with pride
"Throw your pennies in the water below
Watch your wish continue to grow" 

So many people must have done the same 
Every wish different in the wishing game 
I hear the plop and also the rippling splash
My wish I think of as I part with my cash
