Making changes

I made a time machine
Followed the directions I found on a Reddit thread
I plan to rewrite my history
Make some changes and clear my head
I went back to 1985
Told my mother about my dads car accident
So she would stop him
And I would have them both in my present
But when I got back
I couldn't find my mother anywhere
I had to find my dad
And when I did I heard my worse fear
He told me
They were fighting over him going to work that day
And she got fed up
And stormed out the house in a rage
She left quickly
She was booking it on her bike
She got hit by a car
Crossing the street under a traffic light
Even though I missed my father
I wouldn't trade my mother to have him
So I hugged him tight
And I told him I loved him
And I said I'd be back later and we can chill
Got in my time machine and went back
I had to fix this
I had to put my life back on track
I showed up and told my self what changed
And not to talk to my mother
He agreed 
We need to recover
He went back 
And when I got there I destroyed the time machine
This was a pointless mission
That only added to my suffering
Life lesson learned
Something's are better left alone
Now that my eyes are open
And I'm going home
