The Mall

The Mall

I lost him at the mall
Why did I buy that dress?
Why did he need that game?
I didn't need this stress

I lost my kid's address
I nearly peed my pants
We didn't have a drill
He didn't stand a chance

My panic-stricken search
Would prove a fruitless quest
I felt the rising shame
I'd failed the basic test

I lost him at the mall
I was a crumbling wreck
Right then, he reappeared
Right there, I wrung his neck!
