Mams Museum...

Aisle upon aisle of all things alcohol, especially the fruitful wine
Fear upon fear I'm dreading 9 o'clock, because that's our bedtime
Sisters, hand in hand, what film shall we watch tonight
She drinks glass after glass, while we wait for daylight
Mam, this is your museum, you can look but you can't touch
Please don't pick a bottle up, you wouldn't, if you loved us as much
I don't understand, from what has happened, you can't say enough is enough
We are happy children with smiles on our faces, how is your life so tough?
Confusion, I don't even know why my mam would do this
All I ever wanted was her arms around me, with a goodnight kiss
3 years have passed now, I've already forgotten what I use to miss
She has been controlled by demons and always chooses the drink
Her eyes were glazed and she started to talk funny
She'd asked me quite often if I had any money
I hated her because she was never there when it mattered
All her lies and broken promises, it's our hearts that got shattered
Mam, this is your museum, you can look but you can't touch
Please don't pick a bottle up, you wouldn't, if you loved us as much
I don't understand, from what has happened, you can't say enough is enough
We are happy children with smiles on our faces, how is your life so tough?
How is your life so tough
Can we help, if you talk to us?

Wayne , this is a story that I have seen so many times told from the only viewpoint that matters, the children . excellent mate
Nigel
Very true Nigel, everything that matters in this crazy world is our children and family, everything I do is for my little angels, that's the way it's meant to be,
thanks again Nigel ??
Such a sad ,sad commentary of a problem that is becoming more of a reality in childrens lives every day! Beautifully expressed from the childs point of view- I particularly liked the repetition
