Many years

Those many, many years ago
When young love of ours ran free, 
True feelings ran deep, in my heart 
Those around us saw the love of you & me, 
We laughed we cried, we had our days
Forfilled harmony, romance as new, 
For as far as my heart recalls this 
I know that I've never, loved as much as you, 
Held your hand, deeply held my heart 
You cast aside secrets of now & old, 
Learning together, a gentle cupids touch
Each other holding love, words always told, 
You were my air, I needed to breathe 
You were the sun, just as plants need to grow, 
For our destiny back then, still unwritten 
For you were my everything, daily had to know, 
I now look back, to those sweet better days
You completed my dreams, my heart & soul, 
But sadly time was cruel as we went our ways
Soon left with darkness, where once I was whole, 
For as long as I have a breath in my body 
My memories of you, will always be inside, 
For many, many of those years ago
Washed away but still love you, difficult to hide.
