Many Years Hence

They were digging and found a football stadium,
once containing 50,00 until the virus came again,
there were whole towns and cities all left intact,
waiting to be discovered like a matter-of-fact.
Why hadn't they done something to stop disaster,
instead of carrying on celebrating with silly laughter,
there had been no meteor to destroy them all,
stubbornness and intransigence brought about their fall.
There were documents about lockdowns in towns,
arguments, indecision and so many ups and downs,
an effigy of a blonde haired man looked important,
with no. 10 on a black door some way distant.
A statue with a torch was located on a hump,
inscription read: 'Black lives don't matter,' by Donald Ttrump.
