Marionette

Marionette

Demeaned at the barricade of my nerve
Resides this gall, a vigor so cheeky
Skeptic's pretense trap ruptures to preserve
Caves in thy firm contempt, gleams so sneaky
Sincere, this physical facade endures
In sneering bitter taste, this defect allures

Ego envelops immoral feats full
Forsaken these virtues of thy foremost
Deplorable jest strut with strings to pull
By crooked humor, dispirits this host
Yearns this wretch, an adverse occupation
Still leaves my ease without consolation

Strange, this act of unblemished spite pursue
Deranged, a psyche to keep at steady
In mind's true form, this repose blows askew
Then parasite, becomes leech at ready
Captured by fraud, yet aches to run away
Ambushed, this mockery to lead astray
