May Day

The first this month is known as “May Day”, and around many decorated poles;

Girls in lacey, long white dresses, dance, to welcome springtime’s foals!

The mood is very happy, for the winter now has passed;

And soon it will be the summer, with days that longer last!

But for one, it’s a time of sadness, for Georgina’s now so blue;

Her beautiful little rosebud, this month, to Heaven, he withdrew!

She just recently became my soulmate, and I now am vicariously sharing all her pain;

Because I too lost an “angel”, and she’s curtailed my tears of rain!

Yet, I feel so very helpless, for she’s so very far away;

If she lived a little closer, I would hold her every day!

We’d share the tears together, from both our broken hearts;

Then together we could mend them, and our healing we could start!
