Maybe

Maybe it was you smile
Or maybe it was your dark brown eyes
Maybe it was your light brown curls
Or maybe it was your deep mysterious voice

I’ll never look at you the same again,
If I ever even want to look at you again
I see you
And my heart just stops

It used to pause every time you were near,
And the butterflies would wake up from their slumber
Now I see you, and all my previous thoughts disappear
I just see someone I thought i knew,
But I don’t
I didn’t

Maybe it's for the better.
Maybe it was meant to be this way.
Maybe we tried to make something out of nothing.
Or maybe what we had was always just that,
nothing.
