Mayhem In Mayfield

Those poor people down in Mayfield, a quaint Kentucky town;
Who on Friday night were caught off guard, as a tornado came roaring down!
Over a hundred were making candles, at the city’s large factory;
Seventy had their lives snuffed, such a horrid tragedy!
.
Folks were in bed sleeping, when sucked up by the mighty wind;
Their premature trip to Heaven, so sadly did begin!
The whole town lays in rubble, lucky survivors lost their homes;
Many pets too were defenseless, their houses now their tombs!
.
The Nation looks on in horror, as the news reporters weep;
The loss of life unheard of, their composure hard to keep!
But help is quick arriving, many thousands of rescuers devout;
And people like us across the country, will send donations to help you out!
.
.
We weep for Mayfield
The lost and all those living
We vow to help you

Larry, it is a sad day to learn of such a tragedy as this. Thank you for raising the light on such a terrible event that has left so many vulnerable, at a time of year when most people will be busy indulging in festivities. We should all do what we can to reach out in some way x
My Dear Gwendoline,
Linda and I experienced a monstrous tornado fifteen years ago in Florida, the homes in our large mostly new community, withstanding almost 200 mile an hour winds, with no fatalities. However, just 3 miles away 24 people lost their lives in mobile homes. We feel the pain of our neighbors loss, and have donated funds for their aid.
All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx
I feel sorry for all the victims. It's even more painful that it happened before Christmas when people are supposed to be in joyous moods.
thank you for sharing Harry.
Hugs,
My Dear Leah,
So nice to hear from you. So sorry we're only on Cosmo periodically, Linda's full-time job keeping her quite busy. It's hard to imagine the pain and suffering those poor people are experiencing, as you noted, right before Christmas. Thankfully many do-gooders have stood tall, and made sure to brighten up their days with countless donations.
Love,
Larry xxx
