Me and My Hula Hoop

Me and My Hula Hoop

Me and my hula hoop are swinging away,
it is part of a baby boomer contest for the day,
my hips are swaying to an old rock n' roll beat,
moving in circles for a winning feat.

I pray that I can move and have endurance,
a voyage on a cruise ship gives me assurance,
after three hours of pushing my limit,
my mind told not to give up and be timid.

I looked at the clock on the brick gym wall,
when will this torture end before I fall,
the shrill of a whistle blasted my ears,
announcing me as the winner among peers.
