Meaning of Halloween

Trick or treat ? I’d rather have a treat

Children rushing up and down the street

How much have you got ? Challenge of the night

Sweets do not matter, money’s the delight

Sticky toffee apples and moist parkin cake

Spoilt for choice, which one do I take ?

Witches and wizards, pumpkin lanterns a glow

What does Halloween mean ? The kids, they don’t know

It is just an excuse to dress up and make money

Quite often they’re rude and that is not funny

Businesses love it, it brings in the cash

All the weeks of hype and it’s gone in a flash

Fruit and sweets were once the things we’d give out

Now ‘money mad’ kids is what it’s about

Take time to learn the history of Halloween

Money is nothing to do with the theme
