melody of the drums and my guitar

melody of the drums and my guitar

the guitar,
the thing that makes me smile,
the thing that takes my worries away,
the thing that makes it all worth it,
the moment i place my finger on the strings,
the moment i feel that rhythem,
the moment i begin,
is the time when i feel at home,
its when all else, is nothing but shadows,
as i string away my life,
the beat of my girls drums beats softly,
as we play country,
and we sing our song,

forever we shall hold our piece,
forever we shall stay together
hand at hand
with your kiss il stay,
forever il wait,
till il see you again

then we wait,
until next time we play,
for music is our way,
as soon as we came,
we sang,
then we left,
for it was only a play,

until that faithful day,
when she never came,
and sorrows filled my eyes,
as she layed in her death bed,
i held her hand tightly,
wishing she'd never drove that day,
and now here we are,
hand to hand,
as i gave her a final kiss,
and sang her this last lonely song,

last breath
last love,
last forever in piece
baby il be there soon
just you wait,
hold back those tears,
as i wont,
my angel watch over me,
my heavenly baby il see you soon,
i promise i wont cheat,
il play everyday,
so that someday,
me and you can play again,
you've just gotta promise me this one thing,
baby dont forget about me,
while your singing,
to those angelic tunes,
and dancing in heaven,

until our faithful day
with me and my giutar

You are a bright youthful addition to this site... we welcome you, brother! Great image! As an aside, I was a member of a 6 member folk group way way back in the early sixties called the Canadiana Folksingers! An LP and an EP to show for it as well as a number of appearances on Canadian TV! I played 5-string banjo!!! Cheers, Jack
