Memorial

Memorial

Uncommon valor comes forth unscathed,
Such is the undaunted soldier braved.
Existing upon the sharp edge o' the sword,
Protecting innocence from the enemy’s horde.

The boot straps hitched tight,
Though thou heart may show dire fright.
Ne’er a comforting word sought,
Thou quaking soul most assuredly fought.

Go not into battle filled with inattention,
Look not for heaven's intervention.
Only know protection comes with a high price,
Brought forth with the sharp sword slice.

Welcome home, coffin laid to rest,
By the dower pastor blessed.
Hence forth to be honor claimed,
A Hero thou shalt be named.
