Every one's shopping for today
buying table cloths and curtains
paper plates and napkins ,cups
carts full of foods for Bar B Quing

its the memorial day weekend
being remember around the world
to celebrate the fallen soldiers
with many stories of courage being told

in recreation parks children are playing
running around with ice cream cones
picnic baskets and foods on the grill
well done steaks down to the bones

freedom is a way of life for many today
paid for with the blood of those with courage
and its sad to see in some countries 
today wars are still at full rage

didn't the brave men and women 
give there lives for us to be free
then why today there are still
bombs falling down on humanity

so many unknown sons and daughters
lost on both sides of the wars
some were just following orders
of their leaders who made the laws

unknown fallen hero's without names
unmarked graves in the sun and winters cold
some give the life's in little spaces
so freedom can spread around the world

how can we ever begin to thank them
how can we show our applications
we can start by reach out to who's ,hungry
to join us in our memorial day celebrations

to all theses brave men and women 
for our freedom you answered the call
and today and every memorial day 
with all of my heart I thank you all

for you all so bravely stand tall
when our freedom was being condemn 
and your silent voices will always echoed
in the singing of our national anthem

every memorial day we salute you
and the sacrifice that you all have made
with prayers and laying of wreathes
Bar-B-Ques , celebrations and parades

And I'm proud to be an American, 
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men and women 
, who died to gave that right to me.
