Memory Loss

I remember where I was fifty years ago,
But where was I yesterday? I just don't know.
My memory's going, - it happens with old age,
And it sends both my children into a rage.
They don't understand that I can't remember
Whether it's July, August or September.
The day of the week? - Well that's just a blur,
If they tell me it's Friday then I'll just concur.
Now, where was I going? Was I going to the shop?
Am I waiting in line at the right bus stop?
Here comes the bus, it's the number seven,
But should I be catching the number eleven?
I tend to repeat what I've said, so they say,
And repeat it again several times the same day.
Forgive me repeating what I've just said -
There are so many things going round in my head.
Now, where do I live? Is it this house or that?
And who's that old man at the gate in that hat?
My husband's much younger and really quite slim.
I'm sure that old man, - well, it just can't be him.
"Hello, dear", he says, "Have you had a nice day?"
Well, perhaps he's my husband, so maybe I'll stay.
I'm an OAP suffering from memory loss,
But quite honestly? - Well, I don't care a toss!!
