Merging Dreams

She enters as I sleep at night
And roams inside my dream.
And as she strolls with keen delight,
She yearns to see my thoughts ignite,
Where fancy reigns supreme.
Enchanted by the striking sights,
She then continues on.
For she has come to search the sites
Where fantasies are clothed in lights
And images are drawn.
She sees the dream that she has sought,
Cocooned in silky white.
She sits to watch the budding thought—
The one her eyes have deftly caught—
And which will take to flight.
She smiles when movement halts her eyes;
She knows I will be free.
And from this dream I will arise
To offer her what she will prize—
A reverie of glee.
Before her eyes I then appear—
A husband butterfly.
I stretch my wings as she comes near
To softly whisper in my ear
That we will own the sky.
She likewise spreads her wings to fly;
To her, my eyes are drawn.
We dance all night to heaven high,
Beneath the moon's approving eye,
Then share a kiss at dawn.
