M.I.A.
The weekend you went missing, I thought I’d lose my mind;
I searched everywhere I thought you’d be, but you I could not find!
On Monday morn I called the M.P.’s, to bring you back to me;
But on Monday night they brought bad news; that this could never be!
For they found you in a field, with some flowers at your side;
A sniper ended your “tour of duty”, from a tree where he would hide!
They said the route that you were heading, was the direction of my way;
But you never made it home that night, your tracks end where you lay!
My tears were overflowing, as your funeral I had plan;
With all the medals honor, bestowed to one great man!
Your dog tags and your mess kit, now sit upon your shrine;
The one where I cry daily, the tears of blood soaked brine!
And though the M.P.’s found you, you’ll always be M.I.A.;
For you’re missing from my life now, I’m crying every day!
The only action you see now; is when my body hits the floor;
With the bullets of depression, that I’ll see you nevermore!
