Midnight Kiss

Midnight Kiss

Only a lonely midnight, the two lovers met,
they shared a delicate on the train,
swearing at that time departure would never set,
and now married they have been for a toll years of three.
\On a dreadful morning she rose, bearing a child for months counting
three, and begged her husband not to go to work on the 8:15 train.
It was nothing more than a nightmare as far as he could see,
so he left that morning with a promise;
a midnight kiss on his return to his haven.
\Later that hour, that train did crash, a terrible death for all slain,
and the lonely lover, bearing child, returned to the sea.
She wept and spoke the gentle words of his promise over again,
and reminded the land of the lost
who shall never see his child grow like he.
\Late at night, three weeks following, she still lay in bed with sorrow,
when she felt tender lips embrace her with a kiss the midnight hour.
Her eyes fluttered open to see but no one; she smiled and closed them till the morrow, for she had attained her midnight kiss
promised to her on her lover's honor.
