Mill Road

Mill Road

I frequent Mill Road in Cambridge
I like its eclectic range of shops
And other businesses
Along its length
The international supermarkets.
With various spices on sale
Restaurants.   Fast food places.
Cafés of various kinds.
A halal butcher
A cycle repair shop
Pharmacy
And various charity shops.  Bookshops to browse.
Newsagents.
There’s the Baptist Church too
And a mosque.
Buildings of various
Architectural designs.
The road has not surrendered to modernity
(apart from the traffic)
But rather kept its independent businesses.
A variety of unique places
To seek out and visit.
It has an annual winter fair.
The locals live in
19th century terraced side streets.
