Mind travel

The winding, spiralling out of control hair I brush reminds me of the sea
As it froths and makes waves through the brittleness of my brush,
The contrasting softness and hardness, like the different characters I hope to someday meet,
On my travels,
To Africa where the sun consumes your eyes and the heat takes ahold of your body until
Shade rescues you,
To be captivated by the Mountains and Rocky Terrain in America,
To travel to some of the wildest, daunting canyons and dangerous fast flowing rivers,
Is MY dream.
I feel like I have travelled everywhere sometimes in one day yet never left my room,
Reading a book, or sometimes being enveloped in thoughts
I fear sometimes I cannot return from,
But I find my way back,
To the comfort of being in the moment.
But just for a moment even, it would be nice to be in the moment somewhere else.
Take me there, breeze, take me there grass, trees, take me there sun,
Take me there clouds that are constantly playing with me,
Releasing little bits of sun, just enough to leave me wishing I were in Hawaii,
Soaking up everything that is good about the heat,
The tropical flowers of the Amazon,
I almost see them as I look out my window down on the garden below,
I almost smell the spices in India when I burn incense,
And when I think of you, when I just think of you...
I'm there already.

We as poets are eternal dreamers :) we can travel the universe by just opening up a book or looking to the sky.. You penned this beautifully..xo
Thank you! I really appreciate that and it's so true, eternal dreamers x
Captivating. Appeals to the wanderlust within each of us. I liked the imagery that appeals in a specific way to the senses and the expression of yearning to be whisked away and then feeling like you were, if just for a moment. Well versed.
Thank you!
