MIRAGE

I walk the sands of this awful desert.
The heat is on me like the death vulture,
I won't be hunted I become a poacher.
For my face is burnt and my feet do hurt.

I see an oasis just beyond the outskirts,
To press on with something worse than torture,
And though I see it it doesn't make me so sure,
Death birds wait for me to hit the dirt.

The oasis fades into mind confusion,
Seeing is believing what's happening to me?
This mirage is just a tricky illusion,
For what I saw I didn't really see.
Drawing me near to the final conclusion,
Mirages illusions please set me free
