Mirror, Mirror On The Floor
Broken

Mirror, mirror on the floorÂ
shattered to piecesÂ
If only you weren’t so guilty of being so trueÂ
Than maybe I wouldn’t of came so unglued
Letting my anger get the best of me from youÂ
Mirror, mirror on the floorÂ
I’m glad you are brokenÂ
All the reflections of myself you have projectedÂ
Never once have you told a little lie to cheer me upÂ
Nor tried once to make me feel better about myselfÂ
Mirror, mirror on the floor look what you have doneÂ
This is all a result from your actions not mineÂ
If only you knew how to be a better friendÂ
Then you might still be on the wall but you’re notÂ
Mirror, mirror on the floor you expose meÂ
Time and time again never with sensitive skinÂ
But rather eye for eye for who I really amÂ
If only you knew how it felt to be like meÂ
Mirror, mirror on the floor you now get a tasteÂ
For you can see your reflection through my eyesÂ
How does it feel to see yourself broken ?
Finally you get a taste of your own medicineÂ

wow this is fabulous work. There are so many beliefs about the power of a mirror. I love how you used the shattered pieces as symbolic to the many facets of yourself. We all are so complex. This made for a great visual for the reader. Which in turned strengthened your message about your own reflection on yourself. I do love your self discovery poems. Always so powerful and imaginative in format and creativity. You burn so brightly on here my friend :)Â
I’m so grateful you love them because there are so many more to come ;) , thanks Gwen for the stellar comment and feedback .❤️
