MISCONCEPTIONS

MISCONCEPTIONS

Don't be just taken in by all of those trite lines,
they were concocted after having so many whines,
lies and abuse suddenly become deliberately obtuse,
with meanings, metaphors, synonyms, rather loose.

How easily fooled we are by fake sweetness in a jar,
those silly ploys don't always get you so very far,
of course, we are compassionate and give leeway,
and listen attentively to everything you might say.

We shouldn't have to tell you because known already,
all those wonderful accolades just spurred incredulity;
take stock, or is a simple thing like that beyond you?
we will still be here, no matter what you may try to do.

Not only time is a thief appealing to welcoming hearts,
because a decent diatribe is equal to the sum of its parts.

"How easily fooled we are by fake sweetness in a jar,"
What truth to these words , the image kept distracting me from beginning to read as I found myself wanting to see what it was in the eye,, but once once read that first word I was no longer distracted. Your vocabulary and word choice is second to none , they all are placed perfectly giving it great poise. The line I highlighted above really stood out to me as well as the knockout of an ending ...... Time indeed isn't the only thief ..... wicked good write!
