Mister Snowman

We just peeked out our bedroom window, and look what greeted us;
A brand- new Mister Snowman, but to meet him, we had to rush!
Because the temperatures were rising, and soon he’d melt away;
If we were going to make his acquaintance, we needed do it on today!

So we threw our coats and boots on, and trudged over to his side;
I’m sure he was glad to see us, for we noticed he had cried!
The kids that just had built him, had left him all alone;
Which broke his icy warm heart, and his walnut mouth then moaned!

The moment we came to see him, he shouted out in glee;
“I’m so happy now that someone, is here to be with me”!
We played ring around the rosy, and a snowball fight we had;
With pockets full of snowy posy, he beat us rather bad!
.
We stayed with him an hour, then we had to say goodbye;
We waved as we were walking, and we both began to cry!
For we knew in just a short time, he no longer would be there;
And we were going to miss him dearly, “Mister Snowman”, very rare!

                       His time was so short
                  But he gave us his promise
                      He would return soon
