Modest is Hottest

Modest is Hottest

Whatever happened to modest is hottest,

seems like all the girls nowadays dress as if to win a contest,

they fuss and cry when guys call them slutty,

but it's their fault because of what they put on their body,

shirts that are see-through and shorts that show off the rear,

can have a girl's daddy in tears,

if a guy is worth your time he'll love you for what's inside

and he'll want a girl that doesn't feel the need to show off her body because she has pride

Julia,

I'm down on bended knee Ms. Julia. As a man, I'm forced to confess that I'm a girl-watcher, but I don't approach those women. Before a conversation begins, what is beautiful? If she's reading, I try to find out what she's reading- not to offend anyone, but open-mouthed, blank stare is not attractive, natural beauty (not a lot of make-up)- today, it's difficult to meet women who are not pre-occupied with phones, i-pads, or some other hand-held device. How do I get to know a woman if she's hiding behind a mask (which includes the types of outfits you describe. We want women to be comfortable with their sexuality- but to protect it as if it were precious. This poem forces a man to respond- and that's beautiful. I'm not supposed to feel this way about you.

This poem is amazing. Of all the things this is very true in our world. Even kindergardener's do this. What the world really needs to do about this is open their eyes, and see through the person, not just at their appearances.Like Shirley said, this is well said.

Greetings Julie,

Self respect as you stated begins at home and if you can’t be comfortable with your attire home you should expect it to be offensive to yourself as well as your loved ones as well outside the home... Respect for another is what you and your soul mate saw in each other that drew you two as one and something you never want to relinquish, once gone a piece of what molded you into the woman you are and the that he inspires to be in your presence and out....People see you for the attributes you present
upon first ,middle and last impressions, so don' t let yourself down by losing ground to the respect you have built upon, continue climbing that mountain he will always love you for it, just as you will love yourself for the sound decision to be just you and no one else....He loves you for a reason and you
he.....Listen to Dad also, he only scrutinize that which will allow others to degradate you, if you chance were permitted and he only complains for your safety against outside negativity and individuals that prey on the innocence of our society, I am a father as well and I do care about my daughters decisions,
who she is with and what she do, in home and out and would not allow my (child) whom really isn't a child anymore to regress from her normal upbringing and the respect she has acquired all on her own, built solely on respect......In short, don’t allow today’s outside influences make you regret the decisions you will have to live with for a life time..If any male elect to select someone (or she he) that accepts a mate that goes well above the top in their attire and the lack of respect she not only not give him, (but for herself) in public and out, that’s not a relationship and its existence will be out of no controlled,
argumentative and short lived ...Keep your head up, heart opened and respect him, as he you....You will love yourself for it in the long run..And he will always boast his love for you and quite proudly, in public and when you both are alone.  ...Great poem, (Keep and build upon your respect and the heart you have inside).....You will be a winner...

Take Care,

Jim
