This Moment

For a moment time stops,
All stands still,
Thoughts whirl around,
But remain unspoken.
In the blink of an eye life changes,
As all hope is crushed
Like a brittle soda can,
Under the hand of power.
Reality no longer exists,
In this altered state of mind.
There is no escape,
As time returns.
