A Moment Forever

The cool night air caresses my cheek
Brilliant beams of moonlight
Lending to the deep green, the fog of Dark
A LuminescenceĀ
Ever watchful, Ever Silent Trees
Vast, Endless Silence
Time might have ceased to drag ever onward
As the Tired man, The Stubborn man, gives into the End
Is the ringing a sound, or a trick of the mind?
Does it fade away or blot out an existence?
Do the ghosts pace their graves
Or rest from the weariness of a life?
Do I see this ghost of mine
Or stare through it as it caresses my cheek with a loving hand
So far removed from this place
This time that has ceased
This moment that lasts forever
And yet does not count as a drop of mist in a far-reaching ocean
In how many moments have I lived a lifetime?
Am I one of many, or alone as I suspect?
How many others of the MistĀ
Have a soul as old as mine?
I think not many.
For me it ends in pain not felt
For protection of ferocious Joy
I have been here before
This moment
In a life long forgotten by men
Secreted Away
Strategically Placed
Moved and Yet Trusted
Loved
