MONSTER
MONSTER
All of these thoughts,
running through my mind,
Feeling like I'm trapped,
trying to hide it away,
I try to let them just slide,
no matter how hard I try,
I find that this Monster still follows me and stays by my side,
There's nothing but darkness inside,
emptiness is all I have ever known.
All of these memories,
stuck in my brain,
what good will it gain?
yet I cannot seem to shake away this pain,
As it's flooding through my vains.
They look at me,
See the smiley,
Happy me,
Little do they know that these thoughts,
are slowly drowning me.

Much like the mind in a dark abyss, and wonder some positive thinking would be good. Good write.
I know it's pretty dark don't worry I usually have a positive outlook on life but I guess when it comes to poetry it all depends on how I'm feeling at that particular time. :)
I will have positive poems aswell don't worry.

This is a VERY compelling piece.....Dealing with depression or whatever the MONSTER may be at the time is not so easily expressed....but you've done a fine job of it here....with some powerful phrasing that conjures up truly stirring imagery for the minds eye of the reader.....ALL STARS!! & PINNED!!....well done dear poet sister.....and.....in case no one has said so......WELCOME to COSMO!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!......T xo : )

This is a very relatable poem for me. I often wear a social mask for work and to conform to rules. Empty smiles can easily hide a hurting soul.

I really love this, reminds me of a rap kinda write. And your message is so very true. I reckon most of us hide behind a mask, frustratingly, my SO is a big one for this... What I have learnt is its good to let people behind the mask sometimes and feel comfortable in accepting that you are not ok. I enjoyed this, brings a sense of awareness for me. Hope these are past thoughts or ideas, but either way, we are here for you! (Although these comments suggest you have probably already figured that out XD) Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea.

I just want to show those that feel that way also that they aren't alone in how they are feeling and basically giving people a perspective of someone that could be struggling even if everything looks grand on the outside.
