Monsters

She is a carnivore of my spirit
And a contradiction of my heart
The ego and greed know no bounds
Haunted by the one she abused
She laughs to herself and sometimes out loud
At the heartache and rage she has caused
Wrapped in the ugliness of self
She tastes the hurt on her tongue and likes it
The end is coming now she is frightened
She speaks of the excuses she now makesĀ
For some of the horrors she has caused
There are monsters that I know there are monsters.
