Moral compass

Moral compass

Bemused midst twist of lack haste and lark,
Merriment few and far between,
Bitter tongues spew, cantankerous shark,
Treacherous whispers inflict on thee.

blind to setting of picturesque,
Such cold as mere shadows stare,
Thoughtless word open chest,
Empathetic ruin and steely glare.

Poignant piteous tis to see,
Empathy lay waste to a sombre path,Β
Bereft of moral compass & me,
Succumbed to quarell and consumed by wrath.

Poison infects, innocence lost,
Vulgar script dons a cold bath,
Offence and remittance deemed as soft,
Hold onto light on a darkened path.
