Morning hunt

Morning hunt

Hazy air cuts around and hugs ancient pines.Β  Standing tall to cover the Moist, needle covered earth. Columns of light and warmness piercing through like rows of soldiers up at the morning horn. Shields of armor twinkle as the sun unfolds over the hills. Life is awakened. Herds of birds casting shadows, performing puppet shows across the vast landscape. Beasts stand up and stretch their lims, cracking twigs and peeling bark echoes with the light. The ground is soft now, and my boots sink with every step. The leather strap around my shoulder hold my my vest close against my chest. Expanding with each breath as Small’s clouds of frosted air escape my lips. Fingers still numb and my nose dripping. Miles and miles to walk for the treasure of a buck. Listen and see, mother will give you her hints. Smell and taste earth. She will lead your legs. Reaching the hilltops as the sun fully engulfs nature. I am part of this, no other time feels as natural as now.
