MOSAIC LIFE

My life that once was shattered
Splintered, torn apart
I gathered up the broken pieces
And kept them in my heart
Piece by piece, I put them together
And though it's never quite the same
The masterpiece of my abstract life
Reveals the hardships I overcame
My life that once was broken
Became a work of art
Revealing a thing of beauty
That's only found in a broken heart
I extracted the pain, the misery
I laid bare, the strength within
Revealing the fight, the tenacity
Of what lies beneath my skin
I may have once been broken
But what I choose, is up to me
My life crushed beneath the weight
