MOTHER EARTH

You were here before time
Taking care of yourself and doing just fine 
Your rivers and seas were pure as can be
Your trees and plants lived hundreds of years 
While dinosaurs and other animals ran free

Your sky were always a transparent blue
With clouds as white as the driven snow 
Your breeze were fresh like a filtered spring
This was long before humans ruled as Kings and Queens 

Nature ruled with a steady hand 
In total control of the seas and dry land 
Then man appeared with plans of his own 
Polluting the waters and destroying the forests
To build his home

Now fishes give up their hiding place 
Because of oil spills and chemical waste 
Hungry birds are caught in its web
While other sea creatures on the banks lays dead

Every bird and animal is now in danger 
Brutally slaughtered by minute and the hour
Some are taken as trophies and others as pets
Even man has became a danger to himself 

O Mother Earth, what will you do
Before this beautiful paradise falls victim 
To the unfaithful few
Take us back to your early days 
And I will ask of man's Creator 
To change man's deadly ways.
