Mothering Angel

Lord, my mother is now with you.
Though my tears fall, she wears a smile!
My heart aches God,Β I miss her.
It seems I had her only a little while.
God, please place her in your arms.
Fill her with joy and peace!
Reward her with a mansion fair!
May her Heavenly garden ever increase!
Lord, as she walks those golden streets-
Won't you please hold my mother's hand?
As she speaks with loved ones she once lost-
Who have since been dwelling in your land.
May prophets of old be her new neighbors!
Please let angel wings now form her breeze!
May your light be for her blessed sunshine!
I request this all on bended knees.
Oh and Father, please tell my mother......
My thoughts are with her there.
I know I now, have a mothering angel-
Watching over me with care.
NOTE: This poem was written long before (years before) my mother went Home to our Lord.
I wrote it for a friend of mine whose mother had died, andΒ my friendΒ was in much grief and sorrow,
I wanted to comfort her somehow. Then, when my own mother died, this poem came back to me. I never knew
that when I wrote it to comfort another, God would have it comfort me one day. His ways truly are mysterious!
