Mountain Dew

Scattered jewels
of rainbows and stars,
every one an oasis
of light from afar
that holds the sky
in shining hue,
upon sun red petals
of scarlet and blue.
Upon the bracken
and spider´s web,
to sweeten the bitter earth
of winter´s low ebb.
Upon violet and primrose
a mist water world,
to awaken the seed
and soil´s worth,
in flower gem grass
and snow dust pearls.
Upon the wind hewn rock
the frosted rime,
and the drifting clouds
that pass as time.

Stunning, reads like a Van Gogh painting in poetic form. Absolutely beautiful imagery and use of natureÂ

Hi Jim, hope you are very well and taking care. Thank you for reading and commenting on my poem, your choice of words is very encouraging. Thank you!
Now this verse/stanza is my favourite! This says so much about the whole gorgeous poem. To me, it is a reminder of how the world is old and we are just passing through and lucky enough to see its beauty (if we think of looking). Our world is certainly beautiful, sometimes brutally so, but summer, winter, spring or fall it is magnificently beautiful and we are lucky to journey with it for a while. Stellar writing. I am so sorry I missed this when you first posted but glad i have caught it now. And just to add, there are so many mystical jewels — gems in dew drops and diamonds in the snow. Beautiful writing about a beautiful thing x
